Hørsholm International School (HIS) was founded in 1996. It forms part of Nordsjællands Grundskole og Gymnasium (NGG) plus HF which was started in 1983 and, with over a 1400 students, is well recognized as one of the top private schools in Denmark. The international department of NGG was developed to serve the needs of  the internationally mobile community seeking education in English.

HIS currently has over 220 students in grades K1 to MYP 5 representing approximately 30 nationalities, none of which predominates. As such, HIS offers a truly international environment and through its link with NGG also incorporates the best of Danish traditions.

HIS offers stimulating and creative academic programmes as the school is authorized to teach the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) and The Primary Years Programme (PYP).

The school has always emphasized a high professional standard with skilled and dedicated teachers. Our aim is to teach tolerance and respect for other's opinions and at the same time provide our students with the skills and attitudes necessary to succeed in today's world. It is our ambition to have happy, contented and innovative students and parents.
