The Secondary School Cambridge International Exams
CIE is composed of two parts: Secondary 1 (grades 6, 7, 8) and Secondary 2 (grades 9, 10). Students who complete Secondary 2 can obtain globally recognized qualifications called IGCSE, giving them access to high schools and further education worldwide including the IB Diploma Programme.
CIE offers a learner-centered approach, with progressive and flexible programmes. There is comprehensive student support with standardized syllabuses in 9000 school around the world ensures students perform at their maximum ability. The CIE curriculum sets clear clear goals for learners and teachers.
Secondary 1 has progression tests, internally graded, in English, Mathematics and Science in Grades 6 and 7. Internally administered Checkpoint exams at the end of Grade 8 are graded externally and students/teachers receive written reports with feedback indicating students’ weaknesses and strengths. Standardized IGCSE exams, at the end of Grade 10 are graded externally and feedback/grades are sent back to the student and school. At NGG ID we offer IGCSE exams in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English (First Language), French or Spanish, History and Music.
